1180I came upon your email address while visiting Rootsweb. I am a decendant of John Nelson and Sarah Sterns. My mother Jane Elizabeth Nelson, daughter of Abraham L. Nelson. Abraham was son of Solomon (Saul) Nelson and Malinda Kimble. Solomon was son of Samuel K. Nelson and Susan Harper. Samuel K. was son of Elijah Nelson and Mary Kinkead. Elijah was son of John Nelson and Sarah Sterns. John was son of Thomas Nelson and Martha ?. I have recently came upon some data that tries to associate the family with Tom (Scotch) Nelson, the grandfather of Thomas Nelson, Jr. third governor of VA and a signor of the Dec. of Independance. This association is not a good one in that the dates do not fit. My question to you is this. Do you have any information that relates our ancestors to "Scotch" Tom Nelson?
