55Job Parson Sr. (1789-1883) and Job Parsons Jr. (1820-1904) are listed in this history as Senior and Junior because they are known as such in the records of the county and the memories of its people. Since they were not father and son, they are not Senior and Junior, but Job I and Job II. Job I had a son named Job Ward [Parsons] but since the middle name was added the necessity of a Junior was eliminated. Abraham Parsons also had a son named Job Ward [Parsons], consequently there was a Job [Parsons] I and a Job Ward [Parsons] II.

46[Note: The father of Elizabeth and Mary Jane is undoubtably one of the four Job Parsons listed above . . . the least likely being Job Ward Parsons II since he was probably too young. Any of the other three Jobs are quite possible. Since they were born out of wedlock the issue has probably been a sensitive one for both families but it is obvious that it was common knowledge at the time, in the Snyder family, that Job or Jobe Parsons was their father. The order of possibilties for this “Job Parsons” in my mind is:
Job “Squire Job” Parsons I, son of William Parsons
Job Ward Parsons I, son of Job “Squire Job” Parsons I
Job Parsons II, son of Solomon Parsons
