1006Albert Jacob Harper, 99, of Dry Fork, passed away March 21, 2008, in Lake East Hospital in Painesville, Ohio.
He was born Nov. 15, 1908, at Harman, a son of the late Minor and Clara Cooper Harper.
He is survived by his wife of 76 years, Gladys B. Smith Harper; two sons, Harold (Carol) Harper of Copley, Ohio, and David (Nancy) Harper of Silver Spring, Md.; three daughters, Collene (Victor) Eyth of Mentor, Ohio, Rosalie (George) Barber of San Clemente, Calif., and Phyllis (Don) Nelson of Accokeek, Md., two sisters, Nela C. Carter of Medina, Ohio, and Sally Head of Akron, Ohio; grandchildren, Daliene, Keith and Sharon Curtis, David and Susan Eyth, Julie Nelson Steele, Clara Nelson Fitzgerald, Charles Harper, Laura Harper Atherton and Stacia and Christopher Harper;14 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Dr. Dale Curtis; three brothers, Fred, Stelman and Harry; and four sisters, Erma, Zetta, Evelyn and Virginia.
Mr. Harper was a lifelong farmer and carpenter. He was a charter member of the Dry Fork Assembly of God Church and a member of Randolph County Farm Bureau.
Friends were received from 4 until 8 p.m. today at the Dry Fork Assembly of God Church. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 25, at the Dry Fork Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Ric Lewellen officiating. Interment followed in Jacob C. Harper Cemetery at Harman.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Dry Fork Assembly of God Church or the charity of your choice. Hinkle Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
