Ernest Boone, Former Fulton Resident, Dies In Nashville

Ernest Boone, former Fulton resident, died at 6 p.m. in a nursing home in Nashville,
following a long illness. His death came on the day that his sister, Mrs. Bertie Pope was
buried at Fairview cemetery here. He was the son of the late William and Blanche Clanton
Boone, well known residents of this area. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Etta Foy Boone,
a son Archie Boone of Nashville and three grandchildren, Pat Boone, fames TV star, Nick
Todd and Judy Boone; two brothers, Cecil Boone of Nashville and Earl Boone of Fulton.
He was a brother-in-law of Mrs. Ina Pittman and an uncle of Mrs. Mel Simons, both of Fulton.

Funeral Services and burial will be in Nashville.

Pat Boone's Grandfather Dies Here (He died 29 March 1962)

Ernest Eugene Boone, 83, of 1205 Lone Oak Road, grandfather
of singer and movie actor Pat Boone, died at 6:30 p.m. Thursday
in a local infirmary after being bedridden several months.

Services have been tentatively set for Saturday afternoon at
the Granny White Pike Church of Christ. Burial will be in Woodlawn
Memorial Park. The body is at Roesch-Patton Funeral Home.

Born near Fresno, Calif., Mr. Boone had lived in New Mexico,
Kentucky and Florida before coming to Nashville in 1950. He was
married for more than 55 years to the former Etta Lou Foy of Fulton,
KY. She survives. Mr. Boone had been a meat market operator in
Memphis and in Gainesville, Fla., before retiring in 1950. He had
also been a rancher in New Mexico. He was a member of the Granny
White Pike Church of Christ.

Other survivors are a son A. A. Boone, of Nashville; two brothers
W. C Boone of Nashville and E. C. Boone of Fulton, KY.; four
grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Mr. Boone's sister Mrs.
J. S. Pope of Jacksonville, Fla. died there Tuesday and was buried
Thursday in Fulton.
