Lula Mae HarperFuneral services for Mrs. Lula Mae Harper, 72, of Rt. 1, Hopewell, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home. The Rev. Chester Sidle will officiate, with burial in Wilson Cemetery.
Mrs. Harper died Monday morning in her home.
She was born Feb. 2, 1897 in Randolph County, W.Va., to Solomon and Alice Flannigan Bonner.
A resident of Newark for the past 25 years, she had at one time worked at Owens-Corning Fiberglas Corp. She was a member of the Free Methodist Church, Hopewell.
Surviving are a son, Ralph, of Newark; four daughters, Mrs. Eleanor Nelson and Mrs. Helen Barker, both of Newark; Mrs. Marie Plott of Croton; Mrs. Carol Kowbasa of Rt. 1; two brothers, Willie Bonner of Parsons, W.Va.; Albert Bonner of Dryfork, W.Va.; two sisters, Mrs. Minnie White of Dryfork; Mrs. Mamie Bell of Union Station; five half-brothers, Wilbert Bonner, Stanley Bonner and Ose Bonner, all of Dryfork, W.Va.; Mitchell Bonner of Baltimore, Md.; Edgar Bonner of Rt. 4; one half-sister, Mrs. Toy Bonner of Dryfork; 30 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Two sisters and a brother are dead. Her husband, Snowden, died in 1965.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 this evening and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.

Snowden HarperSnowden Harper, 67, Rt. 1 Hopewell, died at 12:40 a.m. today. He was born May 26, 1896 in Tucker, W.Va.. He was the son of Henry and Clara Blann [Bland] Harper. A retired farmer, Mr. Harper lived in the Hopewell area since 1921 when he moved from Columbus. He was a member of the Free Methodist Church.
Survivng are his wife, Lula Bonner Harper; four daughers, Mrs. Eleanor Nelson, Mrs. Helen Barker and Mrs. Carol Kowbasa, all of Newark, and Mrs. Marie Plott, Croton; one son Ralph, Newark; one brother Seymour, Frazeysburg; and three sisters, Mrs. Mamie Bonner, Buckeye Lake; Mrs. Dorothy Degler, Newark, and Mrs. Hazel Phillips, Columbus; 27 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home. Burial will be in Wilson Cemetery. Friends may call today from 7 to 9 p.m., Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
