Notes for Linda (Spouse 1)
Hi Everyone,
My name is Linda (Wolfe) Hutchins, I live in Weippe, Idaho and a descendent of the Carr, White, and Snyder families. Hi Terrie, Carol and other cousins I know. My mother was Edna (White) Wolfe, her father was Herbert E. White and mother Laura S. Snyder. I love hearing from other family members. Lori and I are first cousins. I also like local history like my aunt Eva (white) Wolfe, she is my mothers first cousin, and their husbands are brothers, gets complicated doesn't it. I am married to David (Larry) Hutchins for 36 years, we have three children, Mark, 30, Melody, 27, Josh, 24. Mark lives in Weippe and is married to Tina and has a son who is 5, Kyle. Melody lives in Missoula, MT, she has a son Christopher, 2yr. old, she has been working and going to school at the University of Montana. Josh is a student at the University of Idaho, working on his master's degree. I think this will be a neat way to keep in touch and meet new friends.

Linda Hutchins retires from Fair Board
By Jeanne H. Hood
The Clearwater County Fair Board bids a fond farewell to Linda Hutchins and welcomes Melanie Barrett.
Linda attended her first Fair Board meeting on April 28, 1989, replacing Helen Jacobsen. During her time on the board, Linda attended 79 meetings and participated in 29 fairs.
It was Linda’s idea to have special awards in the Home Economics Dept and Linda who found the sponsors. Over the years these sponsors have included IGA, Mary Ann’s Groceries, Barney’s Harvest Foods, the Grace White Memorial Award, the Edna Wolfe Memorial Award, Alpha Omicon-Pierce, Weippe, King’s Variety, The Wild Hare and S&S Family Foods.
Josh, Linda’s son, and Larry, her husband, became familiar and welcome workers as they helped Linda decorate the baking and canning sections of the Exhibit Building. Their help was especially appreciated during the ‘clean-up’ at the close of the fair.
Linda’s decorations in the large home economics section encouraged the more resent decorations in the agriculture and flower departments. The board hopes to keep her artists touch a permanent part of the fair.
While the board will surely miss Linda, they are delighted to welcome Melanie Barrett. Melanie is very familiar with the fair as she has helped in the flower dept. and also judged 4-H gardening projects.
Melanie is an Orofino resident, a master gardener, and works at the elementary school in food service. She and her husband, Bryon, have one son, Ian, who attends Orofino Junior High. When asked why she wanted to be on the Fair Board, Melanie commented, “I remember one of the teachers said he’d noticed I had a lot of civic responsibilities. I firmly believe in being active in the community. 4-H is an awesome program and I believe in giving kids an extra boost”.
So, be on the lookout for a new ‘blue shirt’ in the exhibit building this fall. Be sure to stop and say hello.
