Shannon Renae McCollam, 32, a resident of Mill Creek, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Friday morning, Jan. 20, 2012.
Shannon was born Tuesday, June 26, 1979, at Elkins, the daughter of Donna Denise Snyder McCollam McLaughlin and Allen Frank McCollam.
Shannon is survived by her mother and stepfather, Donna and Ronnie McLaughlin of Newburg, Md.; her father, Allen Frank McCollam of Mill Creek; and her pride and joy, son, Cash Everett Fox, who resides in Huttonsville with his father, Chauncy Fox. Also surviving Shannon are stepsisters, Trish Higgs, Alisha McLaughlin and Nikki McLaughlin; her grandmother Glenna McCollam of Mill Creek; aunts, Delores Louk of Huttonsville, Debbie Armstrong of Mill Creek, Dianna McCauley of Hewett and Dora Kelly of Dailey; uncles, Denver Snyder of McGaheysville, Va., Daniel Snyder of Hopewell, Va,, and David Snyder of Valley Bend; her cousins, Paul Fincham, Susan Evick, Joni Farr, Lance Scott, Nicole Matthew, Jack Armstrong, Kenneth Kelly, Jesse Kelly, Justin Snyder, Ben Snyder and Isaac Snyder; and several nieces and nephews.
Shannon was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Fred Irvin "Pug" and Virginia "Mae" Snyder; and paternal grandparents, Frank McCollam and Idell Rapp.
Shannon had been employed by Snowshoe Ski Resort and was an employee of the Huttonsville Correctional Center until becoming disabled due to multiple sclerosis. Shannon loved snowboarding, reading and painting.
Visitation for Shannon will be conducted Wednesday, Jan. 25, from 6 until 8 p.m. at The Randolph Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 100 Meadow Lane, Valley Bend. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Mountain View Church of the Nazarene, Route 250 south of Huttonsville with Pastor Joe Hise officiating. Interment will follow in the Brick Church Cemetery, Huttonsville. The Randolph Funeral Home and Cremation Services is in charge of the arrangements.
