Elaine M. Derrick Burrow passed away at her home in Vancouver, WA on Feb. 21, 2012. She was 79
She was born in Ontario, OR on Nov. 27, 1932 to Lester and Bertha Derrick formerly of Weippe, Grangeville andOntario.
Elaine was a woman who met every challenge laid across her path. She could dazzle a room dressed like a movie star, out shoot most men, ride a horse like a cowboy, charm a room in seconds or call you out on the carpet in no uncertain terms. She passed away with a thousand stories to tell, unfortunately never actually writing them down as she planned. She was an astute businesswoman. She operated a care center in her home and sold Shaklee for many years.
She is survived by a daughter Michelle (Dave) Garbutt and granddaughter Katherine of Vancouver, WA; granddaughter Nicole Kohler of Frazee, MN; sister Patty Hyde of John Day, OR and great-grandchildren Christopher and Mason Kohler.
She was preceded in death by a son Randall Burrow; sisters Helen Carpenter, Lucille McGinnis, Mina Lewis, Bessie Snyder, Betty Brown; and brother Melvin (Bud) Derrick.
A graveside service will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Ontario, OR at 10:30 a.m. on March 2.
