PITCHER - Rilla Doggett Pitcher, age 78, died at Salem Dec. 27, 1955, after a long illness.

She was born Rilla Woodward July 1, 1877 at Ash Grove, Mo. She came across the plains in a covered wagon at the age of 13 to the state of Washington. She married Robert Doggett in 1894. Of this union 5 children survived. Mr. Doggett preceded her in death in 1916. She came to Oregon in 1916, and spent most of her remaining years on Mosby Creek. She married Alpha Pitcher in 1920. He preceded her in death in 1930. Survivors include 2 sons, Ruell Doggett of Midvale, Idaho, Chester Doggett of Swisshome, Ore., and Mrs. Lavona Davis of Tiernan, Ore.; also surviving are 13 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren. Services will be held from Smith Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, Jan. 3, 1955, at 10:30 a.m., with Sherwood Smith officiating. Interment will be in the Burnbaugh Cemetery on Mosby Creek.

Robert Lee Doggett was born in California, March 8, 1863. He moved to Johnson, Washington, as a young man. He married Cinderilla Woodward in 1892. The family moved to Midvale, Idaho, in 1906, where he homesteaded, southeast of town. He died in 1916. He was survived by his wife Rilla, four daughters, Mrs. Henry Yost(Adrah), Mrs. Dave Pfenning (Eva), La Vana Doggett and Bernice Doggett, two sons, Chester Doggett and Ruell Doggett, all of Midvale.
