Graveside services for Ruell Doggett, 82, Midvale, who died Friday May 13, at the Council Community Hospital will be conducted on Tuesday May 17, at 2 PM at the Eastside Cemetery, Midvale, under the direction of Thomason Funeral Home, Weisser.
He was born Feb. 25, 1901 at Johnson, Washington, the son of Robert Lee and Cinderalla Woodward Doggett. He moved with his parents to Midvale in 1906 coming over the North and South highway, which was then only a wagon trail. His father homesteaded in Midvale and he lived there until his early teens. When his father died he moved to Oregon and worked in logging. He moved back to Idaho in the 1920's and worked as a forest ranger above McCall, Idaho. He was marred to Hllda West on May 20, 1925 at Weiser. For most of his life, he was a famer and rancher. He was especially good with horses. He was a member of the I.O.O.F. Lodge for many years and had received his 25 year pin. He served on the school board. Friends remember him for his square dance calling and his sense of humor. He is survived by his wife, Hilda, of Midvale, two daughters, Mrs. Jim (Doloris) Hill of Hermiston, Oregon, and Mrs. Jr. )(Vivian) Keithley of Midvale, two sons, Robert and Richard of Midvale, 10 grandchildren, nine great grand children, two sisters, Mrs. Lavona Davis of Florence, Oregon, and Mrs. Bernice Conn, of Cottage Grove, Oregon, and numerious nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. The family suggest that memorials may be made in his name to your favorite charity.
