She was known to everyone as “Gay” and was born Blanche Agatha Pritcahrd, Sep. 28, 1919 in Barrackville, W. Vir., one of a large family of 11 children. Her family moved west in 1924 and lived in several different communities, including Seattle, Clearview and Spokane, Wash. before settling in Fraser (ID) in 1931. Gay married (living) Snyder, son of John W. Snyder, July 16, 1935 in Orofino and they lived in the Weippe area. In 1946 they moved to Lewiston. Then in 1958 they moved to Spokane, Washinton where they have resided since.256

SPOKANE -- Blanche Agatha (Gay) Snyder, 80, died of heart disease Friday at Sacred Heart Medical Center here.

She was born Blanche Agatha Pritchard Sept. 28, 1919, in Barrackville, near Fairmont, W.Va. Her family moved west in 1924 and lived in several communities, including Seattle, Clearview and Spokane before settling in the Fraser, Idaho, area in 1931.

She married Willard Snyder July 16, 1935, in Orofino and they lived in the Weippe area until 1946. They then moved to Lewiston where they lived until 1958, at which time they moved to Spokane.

Her career was her family and homemaking.

She is survived by her husband at their home; four sons; Wesley Snyder, Larry Snyder and Gary Snyder all of Spokane and Keith Snyder of Port Orchard, Wash.; a daughter, Twila Willcut of Dalton Gardens, Idaho; two sisters, Ann Granholm of Everett and Lee Cochrell of Bellevue; 13 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Fairmount Memorial Park in Spokane.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association.

SNYDER, Blanche Agatha (Age 80) - passed away January 28, 2000 at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, WA.

They then moved to Lewiston, ID, living there until 1958, at which time, they moved to Spokane, where they have been residents for the past 41 years.   She is survived by her husband, Willard; sons and daughters-in-law, Wesley and PHillis Snyder, Larry Snyder, and Gary and Sonya Snyder, all of Spokane, Keith and Sharon Snyder of Port Orchard, Wa; and daughter and son-in-law, Twila and Jim Wilcut of Dalton Gardens, ID; 13 grandchildren, Lynn Gerard of Kelso, WA, John Snyder, Pamela Wise and Heather Snyder of Spokane, Nancy Henderson of Federal Way, WA, Larry Snyder of Seattle, Wa, Steven Snyder of Newberg, OR, Nicole Tellinghusen of Port Orchard, WA, Darren Snyder of Mead, WA and Jeff Snyder of Winnemucca, NV; and 29 great-grandchildren.   Gay is also survived by two sisters, Ann Granholm of Everett and Lee Cochrell of Bellevue, WA.   She was a homemaker, devoted mother and most loving grandmother.  

Memorial Services will be held Friday, February 4th at 11 AM at Fairmount Memorial Park in Spokane.   The family requests in liew of flowers, contributions be made to the American Heart Association, S. 9 Washington, Suite 215, Spokane, WA   99204.

Willard Snyder, 85, formerly of Weippe
Willard Snyder, former Weippe resident, passed away Feb. 23, 2001 at Harrison Memorial Hospital in Bremerton, Wash. He was 85.
He was Known to everyone as "Bill" and was born Oct 9, 1915 to John W. and Mary E. (Cooper) Snyder on the family ranch near Weippe. he was the last survivor of a family of 10 children.
Bill married Blanche Agatha (Gay) Pritchard in 1935 and they lived in the Weippe area until 1946, when they moved to Lewiston. In 1958 they moved to Spokane where they lived for 41 years. He was a carpenter for over 50 years, even continuing to remodel and build cabinets for several years after his retirement.
He was preceded in death by his wife last year after 64 years of marriage and is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law: Wesley and Phyllis Snyder; Larry and Margo Snyder, Gary and Sonja Snyder all of Spokane; Keith and Sharon Snyder of Port Orchard, Washington; and daughter and son-in-law, Twila and Jim Willcut of Dalton Gardens, Idaho.
He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; Lynn Gerard of Keso, Washington; John Snyder of Elk Washington; Pamela Wise and Heather Snyder of Spokane, Washington. Nancy Henderson of Federal Way, Washington. Larry Snyder of Seattle, Washington. Steven Snyder of Auburn, Washington. Keith Snyder of Sandpoint; Alicia Spencer of Cour d'Alene; Trevor Snyder of Newberg, Oregon; Nicole Tellinghusen of Port Orchard, Washington; Darren Snyder of Mead, Washington; and 29 great grandchildren.255
