William L. Brown, son of James W. and Martha [Carper], applied for a U.S. patent on land about two miles southwest of Southwick in 1891. His brother, Henry, also owned this land at different times until 1894. In 1897 it was sold to John S. and Sophia Stump. William Brown married Jennie Holladay and moved to the Teakean area.

BROWN, Henry Clay – Age 77 years. His home was near Mica, Wash. He was a retired farmer and a resident of this community 25 years. He was a member of the IOOF lodge. Survived by his wife, Vivian at the home. 1 son. William Herbert Brown of Mica; 2 daughters, Mrs. Mary Briggs of Snoqualmie Falls, Wash; Mrs Cecile Pearson of La Fafayette, Ind; 4 grandchildren. 3 great-grandchildren. 2 brothers, Samuel Brown of Pullman, Wash; William Brown of Lenore, Idaho. Funeral Wed, Feb 2 at 2 p.m. from the Mica Community church at Mica Wash., Rev Lee Kreill of the Davenport (Wash.) Presbyterian church will officiate Internment in the Rockford (Wash) cemetery.
