Both had children. I show that his father [Samuel Thomas Hensley] was John Hensley b 1635 d 1691 m Mary Louise Essex. Whose father was James Hensley b 1605 d 1660. I would like to know any info you may have on this family line. Contact me: Willard Anderson Co4Capt@oregoncoast.com

Samuel Hensley left a Will dated 1731 in King George Co, VA. It was proven 1735 in Orange Co, VA. This family seems to be well documented in Spotsylvania Co, VA records. I have much more work to do on this particular family, so what is currently listed below is incomplete. I have more notes thanks to Laura Schreibman, but it may take me awhile to interpret them all and get the data listed here. I can extend several of the families here by several generations, but I will have to do that later on.

The six children of Samuel Hensley are mentioned in the Will as is proof of the number of children and their names as of 28th February 1731/32, and that the last Will and testament was presented in Orange County Virginia Court on Tuesday 17th February 1735 by Samuel Hensley widow Elizabeth Hensley and proved in open Court. Elizabeth having made Oath according to law it is committed to record. :

In the name of God Amen. I Samuel Hensley of King George County and Hanover Township being sick and weak in body, but of sound and perfect memory thanks be given to Almighty God. I therefore and calling to mind the uncertainly of this life do make and ordain this to be my last Will and Testament revoking all former Wills ratifying and confirming this to be my true and sole Will in manner and form following viz -

Item - I give my Soul into the hands of my creator and my body to the Earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my Executrix here after named in sure and urbaine of joyful resurrection to eternal life through the merits of my Savior, Jesus Christ and for what world goods it has pleased God to bless me with I give as following viz -

Item - I give to my beloved wife Elizabeth my land and plantation in Spotsylvania to her during her life and after her decease to my son's James and George Hensley to them and their heirs forever to be equally divided between them.

Item - I give to my son George Hensley all my ready made wearing clothes.
