Johann Heinrich Rohrbach went by his middle name. He was married Abt.

Notes for Johann Heinrich “Henry” (Spouse 1)
5531749 Henry was born on 20 April near Trappe, Philadelphia (now Montgomery Co),
PA.

Heinrich Rohrbach grew up in Vincent Twp, Chester Co, Pennsylvania.

c 1763 Henry's family moved to to Codorus Twp, York Co, Pennsylvania when
Henry was 17.

Henry and much of his family belonged to the Reformed Congregation of St.
Jacob's (Stone) Lutheran and Reformed Church, Brodbecks, Codorus Twp, York Co,
PA. While Henry was a member of the Reformed Congregation, his wife is listed
among the Lutheran members of the church.

1770 Henry and Anna Maria Hahnewald were sponsors on Aug 12, 1786 at the
baptism of Johann Heinrich Ott, son of Johannes and Elisabetha Ott born June
15.

c 1772 Henry and Anna Veronica (Hannewald?) were married.

1773 Henry Rohrbach, perhaps this one, warranted and surveyed land in Codorus
Twp and the survey was returned 1790. Adjacent landowners were Benjamin
Brinaman and Ludwig Kraps. (York warrant book C195, page 54).

1773 Henry had 207 acres called "Rohrbach's Purchase" surveyed in Codorus Twp
on 22 May on a warrant for 145 acres granted April 9, 1773. Neighbors
included Jacob Diehleman, Frederick Hobis (Tobias Friedrich Hobis), Jacob
Kerchner, Ludwig Krebs, and Benjamin Krebs. See Land paper #11590; land
warrant #4024; land drafts #5100 and 5103; in records of the Historical
Society of York Co, York, Pennsylvania.

1774 Henry and his wife were sponsors at the baptism April 1, 1774 of his
nephew Johann Heinrich Rohrbach.

1776 Henry was a Private in Captain George Hoover's Company in Codorus Twp
(P.A. 6:II:609). He then appears as a Private in Captain "Shyrrer's" Company
(P.A. 6:II704,5). This is likely the 1777 or 1778 list for Captain John
Shearer's 8th Company, 7th Battalion.

1778 On March 15, daughter Christina was baptized in St. Jacob's (Stone)
Church.

1778 Heinrich emigrated from York Co. Henry sold his 207 acre farm to Michael
Ehrman (Patent Book P:15, p.413 in Bureau of Land Records, Dept. Of Internal
Affairs, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania) on March 28.

by 1782 Henry lived in Hampshire Co, Virginia, along the South Mill Creek,
southwest of the present town of Petersburg, West Virginia.

1782 Henry Rodebaugh appears on tax lists for Hampshire Co, Virginia with 8
white inhabitants

1784 Henry Rorebaugh appears on tax lists for Hampshire Co, Virginia with 10
white inhabitants

1786 Henry and Anna Maria Hahnewald were sponsors on October 18, 1786 at the
baptism of Anna Maria Ott, daughter of Johannes and Elisabetha Ott born
September 11.

Rohrbach's land was on the county line dividing them.

Virginia land grants book 1, p. 482

1796 Henry Roraboh bought 50 acres on South Mill Creek in Hardy Co, Virginia

the lists for 1786-1797.

1800 Henry Rorobough was listed in the Hardy County tax lists.

In addition to the land in Hampshire County which he originally settled on,
Heinrich Rohrbach continued to purchase additional adjacent acreage until he
held more than 500 acres. The following Hardy County land grants taken from
Sims' Index to Land Grants in West Virginia probably all refer to Heinrich (4)
Rohrbach, although since his son Heinrich (17) Rohrbach married in 1798 or
1799, perhaps some of the later grants refer to him.

the junction of North and South Mill Creeks on land given by the Shobe family.
