FLORNA JORDAN SUCCUMBS TO ILLNESS

Florna J. Jordan, 71, a Lewiston resident active in the Rebekah Lodge and Order of Easter Star, died Friday at 3:25 a.m. at St. Joseph's Hospital after a lengthy illness.  

She moved to Lewiston in 1950 after she and her husband, Glenn W. Jordan, operated a general merchandise store at Weippe for several years.

The daughter of Fisher and Allen [Alice] Carr, she was born Nov. 23, 1903, at Fraser and lived in the Fraser-Weippe area until moving to Lewiston.   She married Jordan March 29, 1928 at Orofino.   He survives at the family home at 1511 10th Ave.

She was a member of the Whitepine Lodge of Rebekahs at Weippe, an associate member of Alpha Rebekah Lodge at Lewiston and of the Rose Rebekah Lodge at idaho City, a member of the Lewiston auxiliary of Patriarch Militants and past treasurer of the state organization, which is made up of women whose husbands have attained a high position in Odd Fellows Lodge.

In addition, she was a member of the Clearwater Valley Encampment auxiliary.   Rebekahs Laurel chapter of the Order of Eastern Star and malae Temple, Daughters of the Nile.

Beside her husband, survivors include a son, Everett Jordan of Lewiston; two brothers, Albert Carr of Stites and Walter Carr of Emmett, and two granddaughters.

The funeral will be held Monday at 2:30 p.m. at Brower-Wann Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Don M. Wilson of the Hayden Lake (Ida.) Seventh-day Adventist Church officiating.   Burial will follow at Normal Hill Cemetery.

Glenn W. Jordan, 75, a Lewiston barber and former Weippe merchant, died at 5:36 p.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph's Hospital at Lewiston of a heart attack after a two-week illness.

Jordan, a native of West Virginia, was a member of fraternal organizations in the region for more than 50 years.   He was an officer of the Odd Fellows at Weippe and Lewiston.

He was patriarch of the Clearwater Valley Encampment and was a member of the Lewiston Elks Lodge, Order of Eastern Star, Scottish Rite, Shrine and Weippe Rebekah Lodge.   He was a 32nd degree Mason.

Jordan was born May 16, 1902 at Whitmer, W. Va., to Fleet and Mary Jordan.   The family moved to Montana in 1911 and to Kamiah in 1913.   They settled at Weippe in 1914.

He operated Weippe General mercantile Store until 1950 when he moved to Lewiston.   He operated a barber shop in his home at 1511 10th Ave. for about 20 years.

Jordan married Florna Carr at Orofino March 29, 1928.   She died Dec. 20, 1974.   Survivors are a son Everett J. Jordan of Lewiston; a sister, Mamie Lundy of Lewiston and two granddaughters.

The funeral will be 1 p.m. Monday at Malcom's Brower-Wann Memorial Chapel at Lewiston.   The Rev. Donald M. Wilson of the Hayden Lake, Idaho, Seventh-day Adventist Church will officiate.   Members of Weippe IOOF Lodge will assist with burial at Normal Hill Cemetery at Lewiston.
