Notes for Samuel David Cooper
Sarah purchased land in Jackson Co., WV, and the family built their home from hand hewn logs. Samuel was a shoemaker and a carpenter. He was one of the prominent pioneer farmers, who devoted his attention to the growing of fruits, tobacco and vegetables. Samuel and Sarah are both buried in Limestone Cem., Wood Co., WV, with no tombstones. However we know that when Samuel died the new part of the cemetery was not a cemetery yet so his is buried in the old part of the cemetery. "Obe" his son, bought his cemetery lot in the new part of the cemetery at Samuel's feet."
