Obituary
Driver, 82, Dies in River Plunge - Lewiston,Idaho, Sept.30, 1953. - John Rukgaber, 82 well known pioneer [and] Lewiston resident, died today when the automobile he was driving went off the Lewis-Clark highway 14 miles east of here and plunged into the Clearwater river. The car came to rest on its top with the wheels above water. Chub Ralstin, Lapwai school bus driver, who passed the scene two hours later, entered the river and recovered the body.
Sheriff's officers said Rukgaber was traveling toward Orofino. They said skid marks indicated the car traveled 108 feet along the right side of the road and then turned sharply across the highway and plunged into the stream. Officers theorized the elderly man may have suffered a heart attack or lost control of his car.

Meat Market - was the meat market man at the St. Louis world fair in 1900. [1904]
