1164Elkins, W. Va.---Services for Dayton Gordon Helmick, 56, Harman, who suffered fatal injuries November 3 in a fall over a 20 foot cliff at the Sam G. Polino stone quarry at Bowden were held Friday from the Dry Fork Mennonite Church. Interment was in Pennington Cemetery.
Helmick died of head injuries shortly after admittance to a local hospital. Cause of the accident has not been determined.
Born August 10, 1892, he was a life resident of the Elkins section.
Surviving are his wife, Alpha (Pennington) Helmick; five sons, Huey Helmick, Paw Paw, W. Va.; Earl, Ollie and Denver Helmick, Harman; Gordon Helmick, at home; two daughters, Mrs. Vada Collins, Harman, and Beulah Helmick, at home, and two sisters, Mrs. Rose Coffman, Ridgeley, and Mrs. Stella Johnson, Cumberland, Md.
