Bertie Alice Bonner Rennix, 86 of Parsons, died Nov. 16, at Davis Memorial Hospital, Elkins. She had been in declining health for a year and death was attributed to heart failure.
She was born Sept. 4, 1915 at Red Creek, a daughter of the late Edward D. and Verna O. Lambert Bonner. On Jan. 1, 1952 at Parsons, she was married to Lony Rennix, who preceded her in death in 1983.
Surviving are a sister, Dora Katherine Huffman of Cortland Acres Nursing Home, Thomas, and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death was a sister, Eva Bonner.
She attended the Flanagan Hill Grade School, was a 1933 graduate of Parsons High School and in 1941 she received a degree in education from West Virginia Wesleyan College. She was a member of the St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Parsons, where she taught Sunday school for many years. She was a schoolteacher for over 35 years, having taught at Weston High School, Weston, Parsons High School and Arch Moore career Center until her retirement in 1977. She was a member of the WV Education Association, Tucker county Teachers Association and past member of the Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority.
Final rites were conducted Nov. 20. The Reverend J. Michael Lantz and Leon Hevener officiated and interment followed at the Parsons City Cemetery.
