Glen A. Snyder, 75, Clarkston
Glen A. Snyder of Clarkston, WA passed away Saturday, Dec. 11, 2010, from complications of surgery at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Lewiston. He was 75.
He was born May 17, 1935, at Orofino, to Louise Schlader Snyder and Harmon Snyder. He grew up in Weippe and graduated from Weippe High School in 1953. He attended the University of Idaho, where he studied music.
He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1957 to 1959, where he played in the Marine Corps band. He later served in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1959 to 1963.
Glen married Connie Snyder Aug. 29, 1959, in Orofino and they later moved to Pierce. The couple returned to Orofino in 1972 and moved to Lewiston in 1983. She preceded him in death July 19, 2007. Glen moved to Clarkston in 2009.
He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Lewiston and the Elks Lodge.
Throughout his life he held many jobs, but hard work was his life-long passion. He had a wide circle of friends, never knowing a stranger. Glen was a dedicated family man, and enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Surviving Glen are his daughter, Holly and Ed Schneider of Austin, TX; son Chris and Pam Snyder of Clarkston, WA; his companion, Lynn Cottrill of Clarkston, WA; grandchildren, Kyle and Kayla Snyder of Clarkston, WA, and Sarah Schneider of Austin, TX; sister-in-law Alice Marvel of Asotin, WA; and brothers-in-law Daniel Kiely of Sun Lakes, AZ, and Jeff Kiely of Clarkston, WA.
Besides his wife, he was also preceded in death by his parents; brother Dean Snyder and sister Donna Scaggs.
A memorial service will be conducted Dec.16 at Lewis-Clark Memorial Gardens Chapel in Lewiston. Steve Scaggs officiated. Pine Hills Funeral Chapel of Orofino is handling arrangements.

Connie R. Snyder passed away peacefully Thursday, July 19, 2007, in Lewiston.
Connie was born to Daniel and Catherine Kiely Dec. 30, 1937, in Loretta, Wis. At an early age, she moved with her parents to Pierce and graduated from Pierce High School in 1955.
On Aug. 29, 1959, Connie married Glen Snyder in Orofino. They resided in Pierce for several years and then moved to Orofino, where they lived until 1983, when they moved to Lewiston.
Connie is survived by her husband in Lewiston; her daughter, Holly Schneider and husband Ed of Austin, Texas; son, Chris Snyder and wife Pam of Clarkston; mother, Catherine Kiely of Clarkston; sister, Alice Marvel of Asotin; brothers, Daniel Kiely of Sun Lakes, Ariz., and Jeff Kiely of Lewiston; the highlights of Connie's life were her grandchildren, Kyle and Kayla Snyder of Clarkston, Sarah Schneider of Austin; and nephew and niece, Bryce and Breanne Kiely of Lewiston; and many other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Daniel Kiely; and sister, Jane Snyder.
Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Lewis-Clark Memorial Gardens in Lewiston.
Pine Hills Funeral Chapel in Orofino is in charge of arrangements.
