Virginia Lee Snyder passed away Thursday, April 17, 2008, at the Lewiston Rehabilitation and Care Center of causes related to age.
Virginia was born Aug. 25, 1934, in Moscow, to William C. and Alice M. Swenson Zimmerman. She graduated from Kendrick High School and Lewis-Clark State College.
She married Vernon C. Snyder on May 23, 1952. They later separated.
Virginia sold Avon for many years. She also cooked for the Lewiston School District, Lewiston Senior Center and Tri-State Care Center, and retired from Whitman Care Center in 2001.
She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Clarkston. She loved camping with her good friends, Bill and Claribel Rugg, and traveling with friends and family, and she loved the ocean. Her favorite places were Red River Hot Springs and Lincoln City, Ore.
Virginia is survived by three sons and their spouses, Bill and Loretta Snyder of Clarkston, Timothy and Linda Snyder, and Vernon and Theasa Snyder; grandchildren, Cody, Joshua, Jacob, Jared, Jamie, Kylee, Jessica; stepgrandchildren, Lacey and Wyatt; great-grandchildren, Daniel and Emma; two brothers, Bernal Zimmerman of Clarkston and Larry and Diane Zimmerman of Lewiston; and a sister, Carol and Charles Enger of Wenatchee.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William C. and Alice M. Zimmerman; her husband, Vernon C. Snyder; and a daughter, Shirlee J. Johnson.
A covered-dish dinner in Virginia's memory will be at noon today at the American Legion Hall, 1127 Eighth Ave., Lewiston. Merchant Funeral Home of Clarkston is handling arrangements.
