Bob Boone, born November 19, 1947, put on the catcher's mask. When he retired from playing in 1990, Boone's 2,264 games caught stood as a major-league record. That mark was soon topped but Bob Boone still ranks as one of the most durable catchers in major-league history. This is where the real story begins. Bob went on to become a Manager with his skills. Currently with the Cincinnati Reds and son Aaron on the team, we find one of the few father-son same team relationships in the major leagues.
