Eldon F. Cooper
Eldon Fotch "Pappy" Cooper, 80, of Hinton, died Saturday, March 15, 2003, at his home.
Mr. Cooper was born Oct. 1, 1922, in Harman, a son of the late Floyd and Effie Armstrong Cooper.
Mr. Cooper attended Randolph County schools as a youth and was a member of the Mt. Bethel Church of the Brethren in Lilly. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Mt. Clinton VFW Post.
On Sept. 21, 1945, he married Mabel Long Cooper, who survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Carlin Cooper, Hinton; and three sisters, Yvonne Webster and Mary Ellen Dice, both of Harman, and Freda Yokum, Elkins.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Kyger Funeral Home Chapel in Harrisonburg, Va. The Rev. Paul Crumley and the Rev. William Garber conducted the service. Burial followed at Mt. Horeb United Methodist Church Cemetery in Hinton. The family received friends Monday from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and at the Cooper home any time. Memorial donations may be made to Mt.
