Mrs. M.J. Roy, of Harman, died Tuesday night at her home following a lingering illness.
Mrs. Roy who is known to a large number of Elkins people, was patient in a local hospital for several weeks and later ws removed to a Baltimore hospital.
She is survived by her husband, a prominent merchant of Harman, and five sons. She was formerly Miss Sadie Cooper, daughter o Mr. and Mrs. Asa Cooper, of Harman.
Funeral services were conducted this morning at 10 o'clock.

M.J. Roy Passes Thursday Evening, Former Merchant At Harman Passes.
Martin J. Roy, 74, died Thursday night at Nellie's Rest Home at Parsons, of paralysis. He was a long time resident of Harman.
He was born in Tucker county Dec. 7, 1874, a son of Adam and Margaret (Carr) Roy. He married Zadie Cooper in 1904, and to them were born seven sons, five of who are living. His wife died February 14, 1934.
He united with the Presbyterian Church about 1921, and served officially in it until his illness.
He was well known, being a merchant in Harman for about 30 years.
He is survived by the following sons; Herbert B. Roy, Harman; Ralph Roy of Harman; Byron E. Roy, of Cumberland Md.; Willard M. Roy of Duncan Oklahoma, and Chester T. Roy of Harman. He also leaves six grandchildren and one great granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held at the Harman Presbyterian Church Sunday afternoon at 1 o'clock by the Rev. Albert E. Dimmock.
The body will lie in state at the church form 2 o'clock until 1 a.m.
Burial will take place at the Cooper Cemetery across the river.
