In 1865 he [Columbus] married Mary Ann, daughter of Robert and Margaret (Mullenix) Nelson.They were the parents of only one child, James William.
His (James William’s) first wife was Martha White. They were the parents of three sons, Otis, Coy, and Rosco, all of whom moved to Indiana.His second wife was Sarilda Kessell. They had no children.
Amanda Bonner first married Fred Jones after his death she married John Wade. To them was born one son, John, Jr. Her third marriage was to Joseph L. White. They had no children.

Sally Bonner first married Tackley Loughry, and her second marriage was to L.V. White. She did not bear any children. Ann, third daughter of Samuel and Elizabeth Bonner,never married."
