Notes for Hester “Hettie” (Spouse 1)
263HISTORY OF THE LAMBERT FAMILY by Oscar Doane Lambert,Ph.D., History teacher, Author, Dean of Faculty for 14 and one half years at West Virginia Wesleyan College, Historical Records Specialist at University of Virginia,
Page 224,
"William Bonner((I believe this to be Jr.,"who was born in 1776 in Hampshire County {later it was Hardy[1786] "and died December 13, 1857 in Blackfork District, Tucker County"} married Jamima Carr (Karr), daughter of John Carr.31 Their marriage was performed in Randolph County on November 11, 1802 by Robert Maxwell. They reared a family of ten children whose names and birth years are as follows; Katherine (Kitty), 1810; Ann, 1812; Hannah, 1813; Samuel, 1814; Hettie, 1817; Phoebe, 1820; Archibald, 1822; Jamima, 1823; Solomon 1824; William, 1829."
Now I know Oscar Doane could be somewhat off on dates because this Solomon, I believe was born July 4, 1823. His brother Archibald Bonner must have been born in 1822, three different statements of that in this Lambert book. There is another Solomon Bonner mentioned in this book, Solomon Bonner, who married Martha Carr, who is the son of the before mentioned Archibald Bonner.
On the sketch of Hettie on page 231 of H.O.L.F. it only states,"Hettie Bonner became the wife of Solomon Huffman. They owned extensive real estate, and prospered in business.
All of the sons of Archibald Bonner, except Emory Lee, migrated to Idaho, where their families grew to maturity, married and reared their children. Emory Lee Bonner married Sarah Catherine Wade, daughter of John Wade,Sr. They were the parents of the following children:
Grace, who married Jackson Bodkin.
Eva Marie, who married William Groves.
Clare, who married Genevieve Stemple.
Mary, who married James Kisner.
Arthur, who married Jean Pennington.
Edgar, who never married.
The children of Clare and Genevieve are Irvin, Bernadine, and Sharon."
Now figure that out and you get an award for Genealogist of the Century??
