BAYARD, W.Va. — Hilda A. Guthrie, 77, of Bayard, W.Va., died on Thursday, Oct. 23, 2008, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, W.Va.
She was born in Amboy, W.Va., on Aug. 12, 1931, and was the daughter of the late Howard Roy and Nina F. (Pennington) Roy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Delmar M. “Skee” Guthrie, in 1977; an infant daughter; an infant son; three sisters and three brothers. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She is survived by one son, Howard “Rick” Guthrie and wife Kelly, of Grantsville; one daughter, Teresa L. Harvey and husband Jimmy, of Beckley, W.Va.; four grandchildren, Eric Guthrie and wife Carri, of Oakland, Brad Anderson, of Beckley, W.Va., Chad Guthrie and wife Misty, of Keyser, W.Va., and Chris Guthrie, of Kingwood, W.Va.
The family will receive friends in the Church of God in Bayard, W.Va., on Monday Oct. 27, 2008, from 6 to 9 p.m.
The funeral service will be conducted in the Church of God on Tuesday, Oct. 28, at 1 p.m. with the Rev. William McCallister officiating,
Interment will be in the Bayard Cemetery.
The family request that memorials be directed to the Church of God, P.O. Box 136, Bayard, WV 26707.
Arrangements are being provided by the Fredlock Funeral Home, Piedmont, W.Va.
