Surviving him are his wife, Donna Conley Pennington; daughter, Mary Kate Pennington Kessler, of Eagle Rock, Virginia; step-daughter, Anne Borren, of Huntington Beach, California; step-son, Bill Pennington, of Morgantown; three sisters, Leabelle Gum and Betty Swink, both of Cass, and Retha Doyle, of Slaty Fork; three brothers, James Pennington, of Durbin, Paul Pennington, of Fraziers Bottom, and Carl Pennington, of LaPuente, California; and three grandchildren.
