Benjamin Cleon Bright, 68, of 4235 Timber Ridge Road, Needmore, Pa., passed away Saturday, Nov. 11, 2006, near his home.
Born Wednesday, July 27, 1938, in Elk, W.Va., he was the son of the late Martin V. Bonner and the late Rosa Bell Bright. He was preceded in death by his wife Shirley Jeane Bright on May 8, 2006.
He was employed at Mack Truck Inc. retiring in 2000, after 31 years of service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Korea. He was a member of the Berkeley Springs Church of Christ. He also was an avid hunter and beekeeper and enjoyed woodworking, he and was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association.
He is survived by three sons, Benjamin Andrew Bright and wife Paula, of Falling Waters, Matthew Lynn Bright and wife Karen, of Newburg, W.Va., and Nathan Eric Bright and wife Alicia, of Hendersonville, N.C.; four sisters, Londa Bowman, of Cresaptown, Md., Hallena Deitz, of Meadow Bridge, W.Va., Eva Moore, of LaVale, Md., and Ellen Zukas, of Baltimore, Md.; two brothers, Van Davis and Calvin Bright, both of Hendricks, W.Va.; and grandchildren, Sean, Christina, Tom and Josh.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Laura Susan Bright; and brothers, Howard Davis and Nathan H. Bright.
Memorial services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2006, at 11 a.m. from the Berkeley Springs Church of Christ, 509 South Green St., Berkeley Springs, with Minister Douglas A. Petty officiating.
Family will receive friends Wednesday 10 to 11 a.m. at the church and following the service.
Interment will be on Thursday, Nov. 16, 2006, at 11 a.m. in the High Ridge Family Cemetery in Elk, W.Va.
Memorial donations may be made to the Berkeley Springs Church of Christ, 509 S. Green St., Berkeley Springs, WV 25419.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home 1331 Eastern Blvd., North Hagerstown, Md.
