497Troy Roswell Penington, 71, of 10180 Rowley Pike, Hinton, VA, died Tuesday, Jan.20, 2004, at the emergency room at Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg, VA.
Mr. Pennington was born Friday, Sept. 9, 1932, in Onego and was a son of the late Zenie Mae Harper.
He attended Mt. Olive Presbyterian Church and was a self-employed logger. He was a former member of the country music group The Rawley Ramblers.
On Oct. 29, 1950, he married Lucille (Moyers) Pennington, who survives.
He is also survived by a son, Danny Pennington of Harrisonburg, VA; four daughters, JoAnn Payne of Broadway, VA, Doris Kile of Hinton, VA, Debbie Sievers of Singers Glen, VA, and Karen Good of Dayton, VA; a sister, Evelyn Shifflett of Hinton, VA; two brothers, Paul Pennington of Harrisonburg, VA, and Norman Pennington of Dayton, VA; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Pastor Wendell L. "Sonny" Henckel conducted a graveside service 2 p.m. Friday at Rawley Springs Mennonite Church Cemetery.
