Milo Sanford Teed, 71, Lewiston Milo Sanford Teed entered into rest on Thursday, Feb. 3, 2011. He was 71.
He was born June 11, 1939 in Orofino, to Rosemary and Ralph S. Teed Jr., and grew up and graduated from school in Weippe.
Milo married Shirley Carr on Jan. 24, 1959. They had three children, Kenneth, Karla and Larry.
He loved playing sports and at one time played on a minor league team. He later played basketball, softball, bowled and played on many softball teams for most of his adult life. He was also an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish and hunt.
Milo was a veteran, serving first in the U.S. Air Force and later in the U.S. Navy Reserve. While serving in the Air Force, he was stationed in Beausejour, Manitoba, Canada, as well as San Bernadino, CA. After being discharged from the Air Force he made a living as an electrician.
He eventually made his way to Caldwell, where he owned his own business, M.J. Electric, for many years. While living in Caldwell, Milo joined the Navy Reserves as a Seabee. Later, he and Shirley moved to Alaska, where he retired from the Seabees as well as his electrician’s job. They then moved back to Lewiston to live in retirement.
He was a member of the Elks, National Rifle Association, Ducks Unlimited and the North American Hunting Club.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley; father Ralph S. Teed Jr.; mother Rosemary Teed; brother Preston Teed; sister Lorraine Hutchins; and son Larry Teed.
He is survived by his son, Kenneth Teed; daughter Karla Moore; sisters, Laurinda Wise, Wendy Teed and Tammy Wells; brothers Monty Teed and Tracy Teed; a maternal aunt, Joan Kling; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at Mountain View Funeral Home in Lewiston.

Shirley Jean Carr Teed was born Dec. 24, 1937, in Lewiston, to Jessie White Carr and Irad Carr. Shirley attended elementary school at Cottonwood and graduated from Weippe High School in 1956.
Shirley married Milo Teed on Jan. 24, 1959, in Weippe. They moved to New Meadows, Idaho, in 1969, and then to Caldwell in 1970. Shirley and Milo had three children: Kenneth, Karla and Larry Teed.
Shirley was a member of 4-H and FFA while in school. During that time she was also crowned princess of the Lewiston Roundup in 1957.
While living in Caldwell, she attended and graduated from a medical transcription program. After graduating, she went on to work at the Caldwell Memorial Hospital.
She and Milo were both lifetime members of the Elks Club.
After their children's graduation, she and Milo made their home in Alaska, first in Fairbanks and then Anchorage. They returned to Idaho in 2005 and were making their home in Lewiston.
Shirley was preceded in death by her mother Jessie and father Irad Carr; two brothers, Bobby and Dale Carr; along with her son, Larry Teed.
She is survived by her husband, Milo Teed; children Kenneth Teed and Karla Moore; sister Ruth Carr Space; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Shirley will be cremated at Vassar-Rawls Funeral Home in Lewiston. Viewing will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Anyone who would like to attend is welcome.
Graveside services will be held at Weippe Cemetery in the spring. The family will announce the date and time.
