Nancy graduated from Potomac State College in 1962 and completed her training as a medical technologist at St. Mary's Hospital in Clarksburg. During her husband's graduate schooling and military service, she was employed as a medical technologist at Monongalia General Hospital and at Forensic Laboratories in Lawton, Oklahoma. When her daughter was born, Nancy became a homemaker and pursued many activities. For many years, she was co-chairwoman of the needlework crafts at the Preston County Buckwheat Festival, a member of the Preston County Extension Homemakers, and a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church. She was a very creative person who loved sewing, reading, painting, cooking and ceramics.
