Orofino Lad Accidentally Shot In Chest
Orofino, June 13 - Clinton Frederiksen, 9-year-old Orofino youth, is in critical condition at an Orofino hospital tonight after he was accidentally shot by a .22 caliber rifle bullet at about 12:35 p.m. today.  The bullet entered the boy's back and came out his right breast, causing a possible punctured lung, the attending physician reported.
Jack WIlliams, Orofino juvenile officer, said the Frederiksen boy was playing with several other younsters at the Ralph Grimm residence.  The Grimms had just returned from the woods and hadn't placed the rifle in a safe place yet, Williams said.  The boys looked at the gun, and thinking it wasn't loaded, set it on the floor, striking Frederiksen.
Clinton is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Swen Frederiksen.  Williams and Sheriff L. H. Drumsick are investigating.

Bullet-Wounded Lad Reported Improved
OROFINO, Idaho, July 5. – The 10-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Swen Frederiksen, Clinton, is able to be up and around in his home now although still in a weakened condition as a result of a .22 calibre bullet wound in his chest, sustained on June 13, when a gun in the hands of his playmate discharged.  He was removed to his home from the Orofino hospital last Saturday.
