Dies At Hospital
Henry Clay Pennington, 84, a resident of the Rawley Springs community and a former resident of the Harman, W. V.a. section died at 6:05 Wednesday evening at the Rockingham Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Pennington had not been well far several years and had been a patient in the local hospital on several occasions. His condition became serious the first of January and little hope had been held for his recovery in recent days.
Mr. Pennington was born in February 1868 at Red Run, W. Va., but moved to the Harman, W. Va., community as a child where he spent the majority of his life and was engaged in farming. For the past three years he had lived with his son, John G. Pennington, at Rawley Springs.
Surviving are three children, Joseph J. Pennington, and Mrs. Texie Turner, both of Harman, W. Va., and John G. Pennington of Rawley Springs, Thirty-five grandchildren also survive as well as a half-brother, Cam Wilfong of Valley Head, W. Va.
Mr. Pennington was a member of the Mennonite Church.
Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at eleven o'clock from the graveside in the Pennington cemetery near Harman. The body now rests at the Lindsey Funeral Home on South Main Street where it will remain until early Saturday morning when it will be taken to W. Va.
