Ruby Ellen Winfrey died March 6, 2006 at Silver Wood Good Samaritan in Silverton, Idaho.She was 92 years old.
Ruby was born April 4, 1913 in Clearwater County to Harmon and Dottie (Vandevender) Bonner.
She attended Weippe High School. Ruby loved and enjoyed playing basketball during her school years.
Ruby moved to the Silver Valley in 1991 from Spokane, Washington. She was a homemaker.
Ruby loved and enjoyed dancing and wearing high heels in her younger years; she also enjoyed playing bingo and attending church at the Silver Wood Good Samaritan. Ruby loved and adored her two sons-in-law, Glynn and Pat.
She was first married to Elmer Wilson, they were later divorced.
She then married Ray Winfrey in September of 1944 at Vancouver, WA. Ray preceded her in death.
Ruby is survived by three children and their spouses:Darlene and Glynn Williams of Winston, Oregon; Brenda Brown of Boise; Dorothy and Pat Flanigan of Osburn, Idaho; 12 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy Merry of Spokane, WA; one brother Bud Bonner of Weippe; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her second husband, Ray Winfrey; one son, Keith Wilson; one granddaughter, Dana Brown; and one sister, Nellie Hansen.
Graveside inurnment services will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2006 at 1 p.m. at the Weippe Cemetery.
There will be a potluck reception and a gathering of family and friends at the I.O.O.F Hall on Pierce Street of Weippe following graveside services. Everyone is welcome.
The family suggests that memorials be made to the Silver Wood Good Samaritan of Silverton, ID or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
Cremation has taken place. Shoshone Funeral Service of Kellogg and Wallace, Idaho was in charge of arrangements.
