179,184Henry Clay Smith, prominent farmer and stockman of Harman, died Sunday, November 25, at 12:45 o'clock at the family residence.
He was the husband of Dollie (Vandevender) Smith   and was born February 24, 1881, on the farm where his death occurred and where he spent all of his life. He was a son of the late Conrad and Mary Ann (Reed) Smith.
He is survived by his wife, five sons Williard K. at home, Harry C. of Mt. Gilead, O., Paul W. of Dry Fork, Earl C., of Akron O., Everett M. of Dry Fork; four daughters Jocie, wife of Emerson Cooper of Dry Fork, Gladys, wife of Albert Harper of Dry Fork, Mary Ellen, wife of Paul Floyd of Akron, O., and Irene, wife of Carl Judy of Harman. Also surviving are one brother, Robert J. Smith, Parsons, one sister, Mrs. Will Flynn of Dry Fork, and a half brother Madison Varner, Red Creek.

Mrs. Dollie Blanche Smith, 71, of Harman, died at her home Wednesday evening. Her husband, Henry Clay Smith, preceded her in death.
A native of Harman, she was a daughter of the late William P. and Ellen (Raines) Van Devender.
She was a member of Dryfork Assembly of God Church.
Surviving are four sons, Harry C. Smith, Mt. Gillead, Ohio; Earl Smith, Akron, Ohio; Edward Smith, Dryfork, and Willard Smith, of here; four daughters, Mrs. Jessie Cooper, here; Mrs. Gladys Harper, Dryfork; Mrs. Mary Ellen Floyd, Akron, and Mrs. Irene Judy, Mentor, Ohio; two sisters, Mrs. Carrie Summerfield, Huntington, W. Va., and Mrs. Anna Harper, Dryfork; two brothers, Frank Van Devender, of here and Walter, of Idaho; 34 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
The body will be at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Harper, Dryfork, until noon tomorrow. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. at the Assembly of God Church by Rev. C. R. Jordan and Rev. Ira Foore. Interment will be in the Smith family cemetery.
