Doris Catherine Minnick, 59, of Dayton died Sept. 28, 1991, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg.
Mrs. Minnick was born March 26, 1932, in Franklin, W.Va., and was a daughter of the late lee and Julia Vandevander.
She had worked for Shem Mar Foods in Bridgewater and was a member of the Church of the Brethren.
She is survived by her husband, Hiram Leo Minnick of Dayton; two daughters, Joyce Sutherly of Harrisonburg and Judy Thompson of Franklin, W. Va.; two sons, Bobby G. Pennington of Harrisonburg and Erick L. "Josh" Whetzel of Dayton; four sisters, Beulah Will of Mount Crawford, Glenna Vandevander and Phyllis Hinkle, both of Harrisonburg, and Hazel M. Ayers of Mathias, W.Va.; two brothers, Denver and Bruce Vandevander, both of Harrisonburg; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The Rev. Shyrl Smith will conduct the funeral at 2 p.m. today at Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin. Burial will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Franklin.

2156Robert Pennington, 75, Lynchburg, VA, died Saturday, Aug. 4, 2001, at Lynchburg General Hospital.
Mr. Pennington was born Aug. 28, 1925, in Pendleton county and was a son of the late Edward Pennington and Cecila Smith Pennington.
He was a retired farmer.
Surviving are a daughter, Joyce Sutherly and her husband, Donald of Port Republic, VA; a son Bobby Pennington, Grottoes, VA; a brother, Ben Pennington, Jacksonville, FL; three sisters, Marvel Morlen, Wiley Ford, Vernie White, Baltimore, MD, and Ann Stearns, Maryland; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Judy Thompson.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Rockingham Committee on Aging, Harrisonburg, VA 22801.
Tharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center assisted the family.
