William Willis Sr.
and Elizabeth Garnett, the parents of William willis and grandparents of Elizabeth Willis, wife of Peter Pritchard, both died on My 21, 1833. the records say that he died at Bullitsburg, Kentucky and she died at Boone, Kentucky, but this may be one and the same location, namely in or near Boonesboro.8
“Is the John Willis who died in 1762 the same one who married Elizabeth Plunkett? Their son William Willis (born 1742) was the father of Captain Isaac Willis my ggg grandfather.”160

Notes for WILLIAM WILLIS:  Resided in KY in 1816 when will of his brother, Benjamin, was probated. He owned 2,277 acres on the North Side of the Rapidan which included the homeplace, Locust Grove.161

"ELIZABETH "BETSY" GARNETT, b. April 16, 1744 at "Horseshoe Farm", Culpepper County, Virginia, America; d. January 4, 1835, Kentucky. She married WILLIAM WILLIS on November 25, 1760, Culpepper County, Virginia. William WILLIS, son of John WILLIS and Elizabeth PLUNKET, was born in 1743. He served three years in the Continental Army and was listed as a Private in Continental Line in a "Record of 1200 Officers and Men of Virginia who served on land or sea from the State of Virginia during the Revolutionary War". His name appears among those who are entitled to Land Warrants for service on file at the Land Office, Richmond, Virginia. Later he and his family emigrated to Kentucky. Apparently they settled in Boone County, as records in the Boone County Courthouse show that he was a witness in a land boundary dispute in 1828. He died on May 21, 1833. She died January 4, 1835, both aged 90 years.
